Cartridge tilting is a technique often used to create glitches for older cartridge systems, such as the Nintendo 64 and Super Nintendo. It involves lifting one side of the cartridge slightly out of the system. Cartridge tilting results in effects such as: destroyed music, discombobulated character sprites, and redifined game boundaries.

Cartridge tilting is often not viewed as "orthodox" glitching, as it does not use flaws in the game coding, but utilizes the hardware's weaknesses. This technique can also permanently damage games and should be used with caution.
